Mediterranean Harvest for Life League

As part of our community support orientation, we'll be licensing and introducing a new healthy dietary regimen to fulfill on the biblical call to support people's health -- such as we see in the Parable of the Sheep & Goat in the book of Matthew, Chapter 25; and the Parable of the Good Samaritan.

This new dietary regimen is the trademarked Mediterranean Harvest For Life which is designed to taste great and to address an array of health maladies.

The Mediterranean style of eating addresses so many significant health maladies -- heart problems, clogged arteries, cancers, COPD, Alzheimer's disease, Parkinson's disease, diabetes, obesity/metabolic syndrome, stroke, arthritis, asthma and even birth defects.  No other single health intervention can do so much.  And experts indicate such outreach can be very effective in ministering to the needs of others.

A DIVINE MIX -- GLORIFYING GOD OUR AWESOME CREATOR

An authoritative contributor to the WebMD health website noted, there's a "Divine Mix" at play with the Mediterranean dietary regimen.

"Olive oil plays a central role, but it is not alone," says Dimitrios Trichopolulos, MD, PhD, of Harvard School of Public Health.  "It's among the divine mix of several factors that, when used in combination, help provide strong evidence of something that is very important -- eating the proper diet can significantly reduce your risk of early death.  God knows what sorts of interactions take place within the foods, and we need further research to pinpoint them exactly".

Promoting this dietary regimen should be very important to Churches everywhere, as research indicates; 1.) most Church populations are more overweight or obese than the general population, which isn't a good witness of Christian Stewardship; 2.) the majority of people who suffer from serious or life-threatening diseases lament the absence of spiritual guidance and most seek spiritual support during this critical period in their lives; and 3.) people may not fully appreciate the design inherent in foods and may miss the blessing of appreciating God's awesome creation.

Lord willing, we're going to use this critical dietary regimen to care for our communities through partnering with a grass roots organization, the Mediterranean Harvest For Life League. MHFL will be developing nutrition and cooking classes to help the Church reach and support our neighbors.

GIFT is engaging in this, because we firmly believe, "The Way To A Man's Heart Has Always Been Through His Stomach."

For people seeking spiritual support as well as nutritional support, we'll equip Church-sponsored League members with GIFT posters and note cards.

As part of our planned Cafe & G.I.F.T. Shoppe, we'll be licensing and serving MHFL healthy menu selections along side more traditional fare to address the absence of healthy alternatives in today's restaurants and to help people migrate to this improved dietary regimen.
